Visual Artist

A Deaf visual artist, Chelle has practiced painting last ten years until becoming a multi-disciplinary artist and her artistic practice includes performance art and video, textiles, drawing, sculpture and installation art. Her work focuses on self identity, culture and having voice, informed through her artistic practices. 

Chelle was a recent finalist in the Incinerator Art Award 2020 for social change in which one of her poetry performances on audism was shown in and, commissioned by Art House for their Housewarming exhibition in 2021 for the bigger body of performance art video works and textiles on Deaf Culture and identity. 

Chelle recently had a performance called Murder She Dictated online on zoom with a theatre group, solo performances for exhibitions with the Emerging Writers Festival film poetry exhibition, the Incinerator Art Award and Zero O’Clock exhibition with CoVA. She is studying Masters of Contemporary Art at VCA.
